I’m the creative force behind Pretty Distressed, a full-time YouTuber, and I love bringing hidden treasures to life. I also launched a podcast called Cypress Room with my best friend Meggie.

I turn thrifted furniture into new creations.

Since 2014, I’ve hunted down hidden treasures from homes and thrift stores in order to transform them into completely new creations.

I love trying new products and techniques then sharing the experience with you. Sometimes projects go totally sideways before they get good and I like to show all the ups and downs. 

Often you’ll find me painting with neutral colors and natural wood tones - a rustic farmhouse feel. But I will step out of the box every now and then to push myself to try something more traditional or industrial.

In 2020, I received a YouTube Silver Creator Award for surpassing 100k subscribers.

I continue to make weekly videos for my channel that has over 29 million lifetime views.

I never went to school as a designer or artist

Despite seeing where I am now, I have no design or artistic background.

I started Pretty Distressed in 2014 as a creative outlet from my day-to-day duties as a stay-at-home mom.  My hope is to continue to inspire others without professional skills or unlimited funds to make their space something to be proud of.

Even after 8 years of refinishing, I still am continuing to learn and grow in the art of flipping.
