Hello, and welcome to my very first full room makeover! You’ve seen me start to piece my dining room makeover together with some recent furniture flips. But today, I’m going to finish the job and show you some amazing (and affordable) Amazon dupes along the way.

We have a lot going on in this makeover. We have furniture flips, Amazon dupes, painting walls, home decor, and more. I love the way it all turned out because I was ready to move on from the farmhouse look. I was going for a neutral, moody, and inviting dining room. I think I’ve accomplished that!

But before we get into it, take a look at my dining room before the full makeover.

Throughout this makeover, there are some Amazon dupes, knick-knacks, and artwork that I want to make sure you have access to. You can click the link below to see all of the items I used in this makeover!

Ok, now let’s get into it!

Dining Room Furniture Makeovers

As mentioned, I’ve recently done a couple of furniture flips specifically for my dining room! The Dining room table and hutch makeovers were so fun to create. Here’s more about them.

Dining Room Table

The Dining Room Table Makeover was the first piece in the dining room that I transformed from farmhouse to modern. I just cleaned it, scuff-sanded it, and then removed some of the decorative paneling. I then painted it a moody, dark blue-black color.

This makeover only cost me $150 which was great because I was able to use the money I saved on other items in the room.

Hutch Makeover

The Faux Wood Hutch Makeover was the second dining room furniture flip. With this makeover, I completely deconstructed the hutch, got rid of the dated top, then sanded and primed it. I made a custom paint color and added a glazing medium to it so that I could create a faux finish.

The funny part about this makeover is that I was originally going for a faux linen look, but as I created the lines, it started to look like faux wood! I loved the way it looked, so I went with it.

I finished up that project by placing some new modern handles and absolutely loved the finished project.

Painting the Walls

Now it’s time to paint the walls. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I worked with Samplize and was able to pick out a bunch of samples from Sherwin Williams

These samples are really cool because they stick and unstick to the wall, so you don’t have to buy sample paint and put them on your walls.

I decided to paint the room myself, and let me tell you, it’s a lot of work! I haven’t painted walls in a long time, but I’m glad I did it myself to save money. I prepped by putting some painter’s tape and plastic to protect the rest of the wall.

And because I was only doing half of the wall, I only ended up using one can of paint for two coats.

Home Decor Amazon Dupes

Okay, now for some more fun. I found some awesome Amazon Dupes that are so much more affordable than the designer home decor items that I loved. So let’s see them!

Amazon Chandelier

The first amazon dupe is an Amazon Chandelier.  I'm gonna replace this industrial farmhouse light, and I found a beautiful Ballard one that I really love. It was for $400, it was a “no” for me. But I found a dup on Amazon that only cost $129.99.

It was really easy to put together, and it was a great deal.

Dining Room Chairs

Okay, next up are the chairs. I had been eyeing these wishbone-style chairs from Pottery Barn for a while. The price varies from $300 to $600+ for these kinds of chairs. Well, I found this Amazon dupe for $179.

I know that it still pretty pricey, especially since I had to buy 8 chairs, but I’ve flipped chairs before, and they are NOT EASY! So I was willing to splurge.

I was really impressed with how well these were packed and protected the chairs were. They have a very natural finish and look high-end, so I’m very happy!

Amazon Olive Tree

Next up is my favorite olive tree. I’ve had this for awhile and thought it would a perfect dining room addition.

I did buy a new planter for it and put some real dirt in there to make it look more real. If you’re not into fake trees, that’s awesome. I can’t seem to keep them alive, so it’s a fake olive tree for me. Again, you can check out my Amazon Dining Room Shop to get any of these items.

DIY Flips

Back to some of my past DIY projects. I’m bringing in a couple of items that I created in during my DIY Thrift Flip makeovers.

Anthropology Dupe Mirror

This mirror will be the perfect addition to the mantel. I had an old mirror that I turned into a $600 Anthropology mirror which just some scrap wood, Wood-U-Bend, black paint, and gilding wax. I absolutely love this thing, and I thought this style was going to fit perfect in the dining room.

Black lamp DIY Thrift flip

And my last DIY in this room is a black lamp that I also created in that Thrift Flip project. I bought this lamp for $5 at Goodwill, added some wall plaster for texture, and painted it black. And believe it or not, I added corn starch and a new lamp shade to give it a high end look.

Amazon Home Decor Knick Knacks

Now for the knick knacks to bring this whole dining room makeover come together. Here are some fun Amazon finds that I hope you love as much as I do.

Coffee Table Books

I love decorating with books. I found some neutral, beautiful coffee table books to place on top of the hutch. And these actually have great content inside, so I’ve already read them both!

Wooden Knot

This wooden know is probably my favorite decor item that’s available on Amazon. It comes in different neutral colors, so you can pick which one is right for your home.

Dough Bowl & Moss Balls

Okay, I'm actually reusing this decor item. I've had this dough bowl for a while. I got it at a local warehouse sale, and I got the moss balls at various places. But in my Amazon Dining Room Shop I found some very similar ones for your to check out.

Gold Circle Mirror

This is another item that I had in the house that I’m repurposing for this space. Again, it’s not from Amazon. I got this gold round mirror from Target, but I’ve sourced a similar one in the Amazon shop as well! Check it out!

Ivory Vase & Green Stems

Okay, the last affordable Amazon home decor item I want to share with you is a super beautiful ivory face and faux green stems. I love the way the size of this balanced out the staging on the buffet table.

Amazon Art Work

Now for some beautiful and affordable art work!

Art Canvas

I got a set of two canvases on Amazon for $80, and I really love them because they don't have glass on them. It’s a textured canvas with some really simple geometric art on it—perfect for this modern and moody dining room.

Wireless Art Light

One of my favorite Amazon finds in this whole makeover are these wireless art lights. They are $37 each, so a little pricey, but they are rechargeable and even have a remove control. They can run for about 12 hours and are removable for charging with a USB charger.

They elevate the space so much, and I’m so happy with them! And even though they were $37 each, I didn’t have to hire an electrician, so it was a win in my book.

Dining Room Makeover and Amazon Dupes: The Reveal

You guys, I’m so proud of myself for accomplishing my first full room makeover. This room is the first one that people see when they come in our home, so I’m just so happy with this new, fresh, and modern first impression.

I think it really identifies where I am with my style right now, and I can't wait to incorporate the style into the rest of my house. I hope you loved the Amazon dupes and the rest of the makeover as much as I do.
