Here we go!

1. Electric Sander

The first item on my Amazon list is an electrical sander. This is going to save you SO MUCH time. Please don’t try to hand sand everything because you’ll likely give up before you really even get started.

This was the very first thing that I bought back in the day when I started doing DIYs around my house, and it lasted for a long time. I got the Dewalt 5-inch Random Orbital Sander. It retails today for about $65. It is a corded version so I did have an extension cord to help reach my work area.

My Dewalt one lasted a really long time, but I did move on to more professional sanders now. Here’s a list of my favorites on Amazon listed from the least expensive to most expensive that you can pick the right one for your needs and budget.

2. Power Drill

The second item on my list is a power drill. If you don’t have one, you’ll need it! Not only is it great for furniture flipping, but it’s very useful around the horse as well. It's going to help you drill new hardware holes, which I have to do a lot with older furniture. I also use it when building new bases for my furniture as well.

Personally I have a Ryobi drill and driver because I have l of Ryobi batteries and tools. Those are only sold on Home Depot though, so if you’re looking to buy one on Amazon, their top seller is the Dewalt 20-volt Max Cordless Drill Combo Kit for $99!

3. Paint Sprayer

Moving on to item number three on Amazon for furniture flippers is a paint sprayer. You guys, it took me a long time to get into paint sprayers.

I was really intimidated by them, but they are so easy to use and give you such a professional finish every time. Not to mention, it’s so much faster and saves so much time.

The best selling paint sprayer on Amazon currently is the Home Right Sprayer for $109 which is actually pretty affordable for a sprayer. I personally have used this sprayer, and it’s a great way to start to see if you want to dip your feet into spraying furniture.

The only thing I will say about this sprayer is I'm not a big fan that you can't detach the canister completely from the electrical outlet and the motor, so you do run the risk of getting water in the motor and that will completely toast your sprayer.

So when it comes to sprayers, I prefer using Wagner Flexio models because you can completely take that sprayer off and douse it in water. The motor is completely separate, so you don't have to worry about ruining it. The model that you guys see me use the most is the Flexio 3500 and that is only available at Lowes and Home Depot. But they do have a model that's a couple steps below that one on Amazon called the Flexio 590, and that retails at $145.

And if you're going to get a sprayer, I highly recommend getting the Wagner large spray tent. It will protect the area that you're working in, whether that's your garage or outside.

It even has a little mosquito net on it that you can put down once you've painted so it will protect from dust and bugs.

Paint Brushes

If you’re not ready for a sprayer, I totally understand. So I do want to recommend some of my favorite brushes.

I love the Zibra brushes because they are high quality and still affordable. They have different specialty brushes that work for spindles and trim. They have a round brushes, square brushes, and so much more.

4. Furniture Clamps

Clamps are going to be your best friend when it comes to furniture. When you’re making repairs or have anything cracked, you’ll be using lots of wood glue. Having those clamps readily available is going to come in very handy to hold your repairs in place while the wood glue is drying.

The Amazon best sellers are the ones that I started out with back in the day. The Irwin Quick Grip One-Handed Clamp Set which is a four pack for $30.

And if you're grabbing some furniture clamps, you should add these blunt-tipped syringes to your cart as well. These are great to put wood glue in and get them in tiny cracks that you can't reach with your hands or the big tip of that wood glue. I use these a lot!

These things are the perfect size to get glue in tight spaces on furniture.

5. Wood Filler

While we’re talking about repairs, let’s move to number five on my list which is wood filler. I have a few wood fillers that I really love that I've been using for years and they're all available on Amazon. Whether you're filling hardware holes or just repairing nicks and dings in the furniture, these are all going to work really well.

The first one is Bondo. Now you can either get this in an all-purpose putty or a wood filler. The only difference there is the all-purpose putty is gray, and so it can only really be painted, but the wood filler has a natural color so it will be sustainable. So you can just pick whichever one is going to work for the project that you're working on. Bondo is a two-part hardener, so it has the filler in a can and the hardener in a little tube. Once you mix them together it gets super hard really fast.

Bondo is best for really big holes or gouges in your veneer. And if you need to rebuild something, it will be your best friend.

The next wood filler I love is called Quick Wood, and this is a putty. It comes in little sticks that you mix together to activate it to harden. It hardens within 15 minutes, so it’s ready to sand quickly! I particularly like using this to fill hardware holes when I'm in a hurry.

Now if you're just looking for a regular old wood filler, I really love DAP products, particularly their DAP Plastic Wood. I like the one that comes in a tube because it starts out pink and turns neutral when it’s dry, so it takes the guesswork out of waiting to sand it. I love using this one to fill in the grain or repair hardware holes.

They also have an oak and a walnut version if you're planning on staining, so that’s a bonus!

6. Furniture Dollies

Number six is one of my favorites, and it took me a really long time to get these! Furniture dollies! The first set of dollies I bought is called the Steel Tri-Dolly, and mine are made out of steel. They come in a set of four so you can put one under each furniture leg. They're not the sturdiest but they do get the job done. It's easy to get them under the furniture all by yourself. They work really well, but they do not hold a ton of weight.

They hold about 200 pounds per wheel, so if you have something super, super heavy, you might want to bump up to the Wooden Dollies. I just got these a couple years ago, and they come in handy when moving my furniture around in the garage and getting it into the storage unit.

7. Cabinet Hardware Jig

My seventh item on my Amazon furniture flipping best sellers list has to be the cabinet hardware jig. I wish I had this tool the entire time I've been flipping furniture because my number one thing that I used to get anxiety about is measuring for new hardware holes.

A lot of times with old furniture, you’ll be working with funky hardware size.

Newer furniture usually has more of a standard pull size, like 3” for example. But back in the day, it was all over the place! So you end up having to fill those hardware holes in order to fill new ones to get it centered on your drawer.

The jib makes it SO EASY. You can set it up exactly where you need it, move it to each different cabinet or drawer, and then you can use a drill to create new holes in the perfect spot. It gives you a nice template so you're doing it in the exact same spot on every drawer.

It's such a lifesaver and it's really affordable. This one that I got on Amazon I'm still using today and it is only $13.

8. Jigsaw

So if you don't get anything on this list, you need to get my eighth item. It’s moving into a territory that might make you feel uncomfortable, but I think it's one of the best tools you can buy for furniture flipping outside of the drill and the electrical sander. It’s the jigsaw, friends! Personally, I use jigsaws to chop up my bases when I want to cut off the curves and scallops on old, dated furniture. I promise it's a beginner friendly tool.

I've also used jigsaws to cut out the inside of doors so that I can add some cane webbing to them. It's really easy to just use a drill and a jigsaw to get that decorative and ornate center out and give it a new look.

Now personally I have a Ryobi jigsaw. Like I said, most of my tools are Ryobi and those are available at Home Depot, but if you're looking to purchase one on Amazon, the top seller is a Black and Decker corded option. This is gonna be really affordable at $35.

If you purchased that Dewalt drill, and maybe you got that cordless Dewalt electric sander, there is a Dewalt option that is pretty highly rated on Amazon as well. This is a bigger investment, but it’s cordless which is helpful! The Dewalt Cordless Jigsaw retails at $150.

9. Paints, Primers, and Top Coats

Okay, for number nine I'm cheating a little bit because there's about seven products here. LOL. But I wanted to go through some of my favorite paints, primers, and topcoats that you can get on Amazon. So we’ll go one at a time here.

Amazon Primers

My favorite primer that I love to spray because it's water-based and safe to put in my sprayer is Zinsser Bullseye 123. It helps with adhering your paint to glossy surfaces. It’s also a great tannin blocker so that you prevent bleed-through from exposed wood.

I also love this primer comes in both white and gray options. I use the white for lighter paint colors and gray when I’m going to be painting something darker. Zinsser Bullseye 123 retails at $14 for a court.

Now the primer that all furniture flippers absolutely love and everybody agrees it's an amazing primer is Zinsser BIN. It’s a lot thinner than Bullseye 123, so you don't have to thin it out at all.

There are some cons though. It’s pretty pricey at $99 per gallon. You also can’t use this in a sprayer because of its high flashpoint. It’s very flammable and not safe for any sprayer, including the Home Right and Wagner Flexio that we chatted about earlier. So when I apply this, I usually use a roller. It also has a very strong odor, so be sure to wear a heavy duty mask while using this primer..

Amazon Paints

My favorite furniture paints that are available on Amazon include Dixie Belle Paint Company, Country Chic, and Jolie. I've used these a lot on my channel and makeovers, and I love all of them! They all have great color selections and most of them are available on Amazon.

I also love Silk All-in-One Paint which is also available on Amazon. It’s super smooth, and you can use it in a sprayer which is always a bonus for me. Beyond Paint is another great all-in-one option that is still smooth but will give you a bit more of a textured finish.

Amazon Top Coats

My favorite top coat that is available on Amazon is General Finishes High Performance Top Coat. It’s water-based, and my favorite sheen is flat. It also comes in satin, semi-gloss and gloss depending on what you're looking for. Unfortunately it's pretty expensive. It's $45 for a quart, but I've used it on numerous projects, and it never disappoints.

10. Heat Gun

Okay! We made it to the last item on my furniture flipping Amazon list. Number 10 is a heat gun! You can use a heat gun for many different things when it comes to furniture. The most obvious is removing old paint or varnish from your piece.

It also comes in handy when you’re trying to remove price stickers or kid’s “sticker art” as well. It will help remove liners that you might want to get rid of inside furniture drawers. Honestly, the list is endless when it comes to how a heat gun can help you in your furniture flipping journey!
